Google PL with Martin Hughes

This PL was designed to help teachers cut down on the amount of unnecessary time we can spend on our computers.
Firstly though Martin presented a very compelling overview of how and why technology is becoming embedded in our lives and how it affects our lives, as a human race and, as teachers.  In order to 'survive' in the world, we will need:
IQ - intelligence
EQ - emotional intelligence
TQ - technical intelligence (to be confident with technology)
AQ - adaptability
Most of this I agree with, can logically understand and reason with.  That's not to say though that I agree with all things technological - especially for children.
I personally feel that less screen time and more time developing EQ, resilience, attachment to the environment, creativity and perseverance is more important.

The session I did supported us to cut down on time spent finding things on our computers, little short cuts to do this.  This was great.
But I am looking for more, so I hope this PL continues for the year.

Round Two:  TOD:

A great session today.  Lots of 'tricks' learnt with calendar, and some work on docs.
