What makes a great warm-up activity?
Does it engage everybody at the same time?
does it focus on thinking or speed or luck
it is easy to learn
does it provide the right level of challenge
can it be adapted for other le vels of math
is it easy to prepare - minimal equipment needed
reasoning, fluency, maintenance, engagement
Calendar maths - specifically set up wall with calendar and counting.
tallies - how many children have lost a tooth
number of the day - how can we make this number?
Shape of the day
write it in words
place it on the number line - put. peg on it
1 more/1 less
half it
