What’s the Point of School? Guy Claxton
Another great blog here, reviewing work by Guy Claxton, who has collaborated with Margaret Carr on dispositional learning. Although this is almost 10 years old is it still extremely relevant today, and possibly quite timely to think about again as we leave the confines of National Standards and begin to move towards something that is more about children and their own personal learning journeys than purely data driven learning.
Dispositional learning is what we need to use as a framework for assessment, and child self assessment, and this links with key competencies in the NZ curriculum.
