Community of Learning - Kahui Ako

It was the official opening of our CoL with Hamilton east School, Peachgrove Intermediate, and HBHS and HGHS.
With the focus on writing, and for Maori and Pasifika boys, it is also on transitions and how this can be supported and strengthened between the schools.

We also had a guest speaker - Mark Osborne, from Leading Learning, who spoke about the role that technology will play in our future lives and the impact this has on education now.  This is often referred to as future-focused learning.

It was great to see the top skills that are in demand, and will continue to be in demand are problem-solving, teamwork, communication, critical thinking, and creativity.  These are all skills and associated dispositions that are developed in a play based learning classroom.
